Knol is a Google project that aims to include user-written articles on a range of topics.The project was led by Udi Manber of Google,announced December 13, 2007, and was opened in beta to the public on July 23, 2008[3] with a few hundred articles mostly in the health and medical field.[2][4] Knol has no policies regarding sources or neutrality. But Why it failed???
Here comes my views :
Well, honestly speaking I find knol a trash can, using it it’s like listening to many average people talking about things they know little or nothing about and have no proper vocabulary to express themselves. I’ve found no relevant or reliable info there. Knol is an blog portal for everybody, wikipedia is an encyclopedia. I see now practical resemblance between those two. The knol concept has nothing to do with knowledge and documentation it’s freedom of speech platform for all (smart or dump, educated or ignorant etc.).
